Shen Chi (heavenly life-force) Gung Fu incorporates the internal arts to develop power, fluidity and chi; the external arts to develop form, structure and sensitivity; meditation to develop deep awareness of the spirit and to attain no mind; movement to develop speed, flow and aliveness; and mind to direct the will and unite the esoteric and exoteric bodies. While you will learn to use every anatomical weapon you have at your disposal, you will more importantly learn the subtle energy field that pervades the environment and the potential battleground, whether in your inner being or the outer world.
For the non-martial artist or the technical aficionado, you will find elements of what people call or refer to as: Jeet Kune Do, Western Boxing, Chinese Boxing, Wrestling, Wing Chun, Hsing I, Ba Gua, Shao Lin & T'ai Chi Chin Na, Muay Thai, Savate, Kenpo Karate, Penjak Silat, Kali, Escrima, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, Yoga, T’ai Chi Chuan, and Chi Gung.
One's level of training-to-date, personal maturity and spiritual evolution will determine a specific system of individualized training to match one's physical and mental capabilities, attributes and strengths. To the mortal eye, the training may be mistaken as combat, in reality; the fighting is the lowest expression of the truth to what we practice. It is however, the foundation, without which all aspiration remains a dream. The highest expression is truly spiritual achievement. This can only be attained through daily practice and spiritual cultivation.
But enough words have been spoken. To learn, one must first be humble. To be humble means to stop the mental chatter and the restless ego. To know, one must be open and receptive. To discover the truth, one must begin practice.
